Checking In and Out

Entry: Your PIN for the front door will be sent on the morning of your reservation, so keep an eye on your messages.

Check-in time: 2:00 pm

Check-out time: 10 am

Early Check In & Late Check Out: While we would love to say yes, unfortunately we can’t accommodate early check ins or late check outs at the moment. Our housekeeping team needs plenty of time between guests to make sure the place is spotless so everyone has a great experience. If you arrive early, you’re welcome to park at the property while you visit some of the recommendations below.

Things to do

If you aren’t eating, drinking or just relaxing at the house, you’ll most likely be at a beach or taking a walk. Here are a few recommendations:
The Bogey Hole. A great hidden spot for a swim.
Mollymook Beach. This is a long beach with lots of access points. Great for swimming or surfing.
Bannisters Point Walking Track. A short, easy walk with great views.
Lake Conjola. You can access the lake from many locations. We recommend you check out the crystal clear water via Cunjurong Point Boat Ramp.
The South Coast has some amazing aboriginal cultural experiences that we highly recommend. Check out Welcome to Country or Visit NSW for more info on these.
If you fancy a couple of quality brews (like me), then we highly recommend the South Coast Ale Trail.
From surfing to pottery to wine-tasting, there are also lots of options on Airbnb Experiences.

Places to Eat and Drink

Milk Haus. A charming garden to plate eatery, set in an old milking shed, on the outskirts of Milton.
The Guild. Northern Italian cuisine and cocktail bar.
The Milton Hotel. Newly restored gastro pub with their own brewery and kids playground.
Flour Water Salt. Artisanal sourdough bread, small-batch jams and condiments, delicious baked treats.
Pilgrims. A vegetarian café institution, great for a healthy breakfast!
The Roofrop Bar & Grill. A fun relaxed rooftop bar and restaurant with yummy food and cocktails.
Rick Stein at Bannisters. Modern seafood menu with Asian touches in an open, brightly tiled space overlooking the sea.
Cupitt’s Estate. Grab a pizza on the lawn or sit in the restaurant with a stunning view of the vineyards.
Hayden’s Pies. The space is nothing to write home about. Here, it’s all about the pies!
Altar Wine Bar. A fantastic hidden gem built in the surrounds of an old church.
Bar Yuki. A Technicoloured, 70s-style listening bar inspired by travel to Japan. Just up the street!

Around the House

Wi-Fi

Internet in regional areas is never perfect. If the internet drops out during your visit, just give it half an hour, it will usually fix itself. If it’s still not working, try restarting the router by turning it off and back on again at the power-point; it’s under the stairs.

Using the Fireplace

If you’ve never used a woodburning stove before, check out this video for a quick guide on how to start it. There should be plenty of wood inside, and there is extra firewood in the storage shed in the yard. Help yourself!

Heater

There is an electric heater in the house for those times when the fire just isn’t enough. However, please be aware that these heaters draw a lot of power and are prone to tripping the circuit breaker. If that happens, please make sure nothing else is running at the same time, like kitchen appliances.

Power Outages

If there’s a blackout or you trip the circuit breaker with the electric heater, please check the power board which is located around the side of the house, near the outdoor bath. Check that all the switches are on. If any have flicked off, turn them back on again, and you’ll have power in no time!

In the very rare scenario that you need to access the circuit board of the main house, “Mavie”, please look around the far side of Mavie near their hot water tank.

Laundry & Firewood

The laundry and firewood supply is shared with our sister property, Mavie. Find the wooden gate in the yard to access the shared service area between both properties. The storage shed has two doors. One door is locked for our cleaner, while the other door should be unlocked and contains the washing machine.

🔥 Fire Bans and Emergencies 🚨

Sometimes there are fire bans in this area. During a “Total Fire Ban” you cannot light, maintain or use a fire in the open, or carry out any activity in the open that causes, or is likely to cause a fire. For more information, and to find out if there is a ban in place, visit the RFS website. Please respect the safety of everyone in the area by following fire bans when they are in place.

If there is a bush fire in the area, leave early! Do not wait around to “see what happens”.

Radio stations can provide information and updates during emergencies that are specific to your local area. Tune into ABC South-East (103.5 FM or 106.3 FM) or ABC Illawarra (97.3 FM).

There is a fire blanket in the cabinet in the dining room.

Bins

Please don’t feel obligated to take the rubbish out during your stay (or do any other cleaning for that matter). But just in case the inside bin gets full during longer stays, the big bins are outside.

Bedroom Blinds

The blinds on the highlight windows are operated with a remote. The remote control should be on the bedside table. Please leave it there so it’s easy for the next guest :)
